Rockne Warren Newell went on a shooting rampage during a Ross Township supervisors meeting in Monroe County. Newell reportedly had been feuding with township officials because he was angry they forced him off of his debris-strewn land. Stone was found dead two days later from a drug overdose. Stone then went to his ex-wife's house and shot and killed her. He killed her, her husband and her two children. Stone entered the home of his ex-wife's sister in Montgomery County. Cheron Shelton and Robert Thomas were charged in connection to the shooting, but the case in not yet resolved. Four women, including one who was pregnant, and a man were killed as they tried to run to the back porch and alleyway for cover.
